In an effort to enhance the safety of our nation’s communities, U.S. Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) introduced a bill to add 1,000 FBI agents to focus exclusively on traditional criminal cases such as drug trafficking and violent crime. This legislation will help ensure that the FBI has the resources to effectively achieve its counter-terrorism priorities without abandoning its traditional crime fighting functions.

Yesterday, the Senate rejected, 44-55, a Democratic amendment to expand the number of taxpayers protected from the Alternative Minimum Tax, to find jobs and housing for Katrina victims, and help middle-class families pay for college. The package of tax cuts was paid for by closing tax loopholes.

In an effort to address the growing threat of methamphetamine use in America, U.S. Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) today joined with Conrad Burns (R-MT) and several colleagues in unveiling the Anti-Meth Caucus. This new group will work closely to formulate a cohesive, nationwide strategy against methamphetamine addiction.
